
Floyd Mutrux
(Co-Author, Co-Director), apprenticed at the Alley Theater in Houston, Second City, Chicago, studied theater in New York for five years while working at Second City, and attending Columbia University, returned to Los Angeles, created the idea for, wrote, directed, or produced fifty plus films in the last twenty-five years, such as American Hot Wax (multiple Best Picture and Best Director, Village Voice, etc.), Scarecrow (best film, Cannes), Hollywood Knights, Urban Cowboy, The Untouchables, American Me, Hillside Strangler, Freebie and the Bean, Up in Smoke, Dick Tracy, etc... Along with Colin Escott, he has developed a series of rock ‘n’ roll driven bios for the stage (The Fat Man Sings, Alan Freed Show, Boy From NYC, Lonesome Town with John Kaye, etc.) under the overall title, American Pop Anthology. First show, Million Dollar Quartet, had sold out runs in Florida and Seattle, and now breaking records in Chicago, reviewed as the best rock ‘n’ roll musical ever made. Colin Escott
(Co-Author), was born in England and currently lives near Nashville, Tennessee. He collaborated with Floyd Mutrux on Million Dollar Quartet (running in Chicago since September 2008, and heading for Broadway) and other American Pop Anthology musicals currently in preparation. He received a Grammy for writing and producing The Complete Hank Williams. He also wrote the BBC series Lost Highway—The Story of Country Music and the PBS/BBC documentary Hank Williams—Honky Tonk Blues. Recently, he scripted the PBS show Let Freedom Sing—The Music of the Civil Rights Movement. He is a consultant to Time Life Music in Washington, D.C

Richard Perry
(Music Supervisor), is one of the most successful producers in music history, whose career spans over 44 years and has produced albums that have resulted in sales of over 100 million copies worldwide, 28 Gold and 15 Platinum awards. He has worked with such legendary artists as The Beatles (on two Ringo Starr solo albums), Rod Stewart, Ray Charles, The Pointer Sisters, Barbra Streisand, Carly Simon, Tina Turner, Diana Ross, Nilsson, Julio Iglesias/Willie Nelson, The Temptations, DeBarge, Neil Diamond, Tom Jones, Fats Domino and Ella Fitzgerald, among others. Perry was named Producer of the Year by Rolling Stone (1973) and Billboard (1977 and 1984). He is one of the few producers to have #1 records on the Pop, Urban, Country and Dance charts. Perry received seven Grammy nominations as well as many others for his artists. In 2000, Perry and Rod Stewart collaborated on a collection of timeless standards. Jonathan Sanger
(Lead Producer) Academy Award winning Producer, began his career in theater by founding a theatrical production company, Off Broadway Westchester, producing plays in which he sometimes performed as lead actor. He built a career in the motion picture industry receiving a total of 3 Academy Awards, 21 Academy nominations, the British Academy Award and the French Cesar. Films he produced include The Elephant Man (starring John Hurt and Anthony Hopkins), Frances, (starring Jessica Lange), The Producers (starring Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick), Without Limits (starring Billy Crudup), and Vanilla Sky (starring Tom Cruise). Sanger has directed more than 15 episodic television shows including Twin Peaks and L.A. Law. He also wrote and directed a short film entitled Peacemaker with Lucas Haas for PBS American Playhouse which won the Houston International Film Festival Prize for Best Short Subject. He directed Down Came a Blackbird starring Laura Dern, Raul Julia and Vanessa Redgrave for Showtime Networks which was nominated for three Cable Ace Awards. Jerry Katell
After a successful career developing over five million square feet of office, industrial and commercial projects as Katell Properties, LLC in Southern California, Jerry Katell embarked on a career in the entertainment business. His Katell Productions, LLC has several completed projects under its belt such as Love & Suicide, Tease, Trailer Park of Terror and McCartney’s Genes and a number of projects in development including The Palio, Wild Blue, Night Witches, Vola Vola and Zippo. He is also a credited actor in Terminator 3, The Ripple Effect, The Retrievers and other movies. He is proud to be part of the team presenting Baby it’s You! and Million Dollar Quartet and future musicals from the American Pop Anthology developed by Floyd Mutrux and Colin Escott. He spent most of his business career in Los Angeles and then lived in Rome and London. He will be relocating to New York City as the shows proceed to Broadway.
Sheldon Epps
(Co-Director), has been Artistic Director of the renowned Pasadena Playhouse since 1997. Before beginning his tenure at the Playhouse he served as Associate Artistic Director of the Old Globe Theatre for four years. He was also a co-founder of the Off Broadway theatre, The Production Company. Mr. Epps has directed both plays and musicals at many of the country’s major theatres including the Roundabout, Manhattan Theatre Club, the Guthrie, Playwrights Horizons, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Arena Stage, and the Goodman Theatre. He conceived the highly acclaimed musicals Play On! and Blues In the Night, which both received Tony Award nominations. He directed productions of both of those shows on Broadway, in London, and at theatres throughout the world. Mr. Epps also has had a busy career as a television director helming episodes of shows such as Frasier, Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, Girlfriends and many others. For more than a decade, he served as a member of the Executive Board of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers. Mr. Epps received the James Irvine Foundation Leadership Award for his efforts and accomplishments at the Pasadena Playhouse. Under his leadership the Playhouse has become one of the premiere theatres in the country, earning distinction for productions of artistic excellence, overwhelming critical and box office success, and highly praised theatrical diversity.
